I am not a doctor.
Though I considered med school for many years (you all know I completely hate institutionalized education anyway), I did not attend and, therefore, am not able to provide diagnoses or prescribe treatment; however, many people still come to me and ask for advice when it comes to weight loss.
Oh, if ever there was a direct line of defense between you and the doctor's office, it would indeed be knowledgable personal trainers and other physical healthcare professionals. A very large portion of disease in this world comes from obesity. Heart failure, clogged arteries, joint and bone issues, metabolic processes and proper integration and breakdown of sugars (ie diabetes), and so many more conditions arise from the same cause.
If you could start today and give yourself a chance to prevent any and all diseases linked to obesity, would you?
There have been so many studies that suggest trendy solutions, so many companies that try to sell a quick fix, and many more silver-tongued scams that promise solutions to all of your weight problems. I am going to tell you the truth right now. They are all lying to you.
Fads can help as quick fixes — maybe you drop 10 lbs in a few weeks by swallowing a little pill that makes your poop green — but I promise you that 99.9% of the time, that weight will be back on your booty as soon as you've stopped seeing results and quit the regime. Quick fixes are bandaids — they cover up the problem and protect it from the outside world, but when removed, there is still a scar.
Now that the bad part is over, I am here to tell you that there is a very easy way to do it. So easy, in fact, I truly believe any person on the face of this planet can lose weight. There are some very rare medical cases that do require more than the following steps, but until you try these and fail at them (I doubt it), don’t go running to your doctor to get on medicine.
You ready for the secret?
Consume less calories than you burn.
That is it.
Science has proven this so many times that I cannot fathom how people do not listen. There are many nuances within this equation — including macro nutrient ratios to help “burn,” muscle % in body increasing to help “burn” more per minute while still, and others — but the basis of the equation is the end game. Consume less. Burn more.
